Market intelligence & advisory

Forward curves, grid conditions, and supplier appetite change constantly. We translate that into timing and structure decisions you can defend.

Overview

Market intelligence, translated into a decision

Forward curves, grid conditions, and supplier appetite change constantly. Most of that movement is noise for a buyer with one renewal date. Our job is to separate what actually affects your contract from what does not, and give you a recommendation you can defend to a finance committee.

  • Zone-specific curves, not a statewide average.
  • Start-month pricing, priced as published.
  • Supplier appetite tracked by load size and credit.
  • One advisor from analysis through renewal.
How we help

What the advisory covers

Market timing

Reading the forward curve for your zone and renewal window to decide when locking is defensible — and when waiting is.

Supplier intelligence

Who is genuinely competitive right now for your load size, in your territory, with your credit profile.

Ongoing advisory

A named advisor through the whole term, not a broker who disappears the day the contract is signed.

Inputs

What we actually watch

Congestion & zone

ERCOT prices Houston, North, South and West separately. Your zone, not the state average, sets your energy cost.

Supplier matrices

Published pricing by utility, load profile, usage band, term and start month — refreshed as suppliers issue new files.

Credit & appetite

Supplier willingness varies by volume and credit. The cheapest published number is irrelevant if they will not underwrite the account.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

No. Market intelligence and ongoing advisory are part of how we work with clients, not a subscription sold on the side. We are compensated by the supplier once a contract is executed, which is disclosed up front.

By comparing the forward curve for your zone against your renewal window, not by predicting the market. The question is rarely whether prices are at their floor — it is whether the current curve, for your start month and term, is defensible against the alternative of waiting.

Materially. Supplier matrices publish a separate price for each start month, and the curve typically rises across the year. Quoting a contract that begins six months out at today's near-month price will not survive the supplier's repricing at execution.

Because the price depends on more than the market. Congestion zone, load profile, annual usage band, contract term, start month, and credit all move the number — two buildings on the same street with different load shapes will not be offered the same rate.

You keep the same advisor. We track the contract end date, watch the curve ahead of the renewal window, and come to you before you are inside the term where the incumbent expects to roll you onto a variable rate.
